Habitat builds, and in some communities, renovates simple, decent homes for families living in inadequate, unsafe and/or crowded conditions. Habitat for Humanity of Burke County is working with inadequately sheltered families to improve the conditions in which they live.

Habitat of Burke County is more promising futures for the children by building stable, secure homes in which they can grow to their fullest potential.Houses are sold at no profit, with no-interest mortgages repaid over a 15 to 25 year period. The house payments are recycled to build more homes through your local Habitat for Humanity of Burke County.

Habitat families are carefully qualified, make a downpayment on their home and provide hundreds of hours of "sweat equity" (on their home and the homes of others) before moving into their new home.
